Individual and Group Supervision

  • My background includes working in a clinical setting in hospice, eating disorder inpatient as well as providing family therapy in outpatient and addictions counseling. I currently have a private practice in Boulder serving adults with a focus on college students, emerging young adults and adults. The majority of my clients are working with complex trauma including struggling with dissociation.

  • Much of my work is based in DBT, EMDR, ego states and techniques from the Finding Solid Ground study and literature. Although my clients may or may not choose to use EMDR based bilateral stimulation to process traumatic memories, my approach is to work with the structure of EMDR.

As clients explore their challenges and their strengths, I support them in drawing connections, weaving in grounding techniques, present moment orientation, visualizations and somatic awareness.

  • I’ve heard it said many times: for therapists, grad school is the first step; the real learning starts when you’re sitting in the therapist’s chair. I agree that learning continues for the rest of our careers.

Developing therapeutic skills takes time, reading, listening, practice, curiosity, self-compassion and openness to input from clients, and support from other clinicians.

The learning that is so important to developing a therapeutic presence, requires a supportive environment.

I offer emerging clinicians a supportive, structured environment in which to lay the groundwork for their careers as clinicians. My approach encourages new clinicians to understand their strengths, deepen their understanding of their niche and consider opportunities for growth.
